In its sixth year, the Give Back Iowa Challenge faced an unexpected hurdle due to the impact COVID-19 had on in-person volunteering. While numbers were down dramatically, there were still 31 participating organizations representing nearly 29,000 employees in Iowa. Those employees still logged over 8,000 volunteer hours impacting Iowa communities, through virtual and at home volunteer opportunities. Winners were selected in two categories based on the highest average number of volunteer hours per employee. The 2020 winners include:
- Small: INVISION, Des Moines and Waterloo
- Honorable Mention: POET Biorefining, Hanlontown
- Large: Riverside Casino and Golf Resort, Riverside
- Honorable Mention: Bankers Trust, Des Moines
